How to delete your TikTok account permanently
How do I delete my TikTok account?
Open the TikTok app, tap Profile, then the menu, then Settings and privacy, then Account, then Deactivate or delete account. Choose delete, confirm your identity, and TikTok erases everything after a 30-day hold.
TikTok deletion is app-only. There is no working web deletion page — if you have uninstalled the app, reinstall it and log in to delete. Anything promising web-based TikTok deletion is not TikTok.

TikTok data exports are slow — often 1 to 3 days for the file to be ready. Request it before you start deleting, because the download link dies with the account.
Delete TikTok on iPhone and Android
The steps are identical on both platforms.
- Open TikTok and tap Profile (bottom right).
- Tap the ☰ menu (top right), then Settings and privacy.
- Tap Account.
- Tap Deactivate or delete account.
- Choose Delete account permanently.
- Pick a reason, then continue.
- Verify your identity — SMS code, email code, or whichever method your account uses.
- Confirm.
You have around 30 days to change your mind. The account is hidden immediately but not erased. Log back in during that window and it is restored in full. Stay away and deletion becomes permanent.
What gets removed
- Your videos: deleted, including drafts stored on the account.
- Duets and stitches of your videos: other people's versions containing your footage generally remain live.
- Coins and gifts: unspent balances are forfeited — spend or ignore them, there is no refund.
- Creator fund earnings: withdraw any pending balance before deleting.
- Your username: released after deletion completes.
If you make money on TikTok, cash out first. Pending balances are not paid out after deletion.
Common questions
Can I delete TikTok from a web browser?
No. Deletion requires the mobile app. Reinstall it, log in, and follow the in-app steps — there is no supported browser route.
Do videos other people duetted stay up?
Yes. A duet or stitch is a separate video owned by that creator, so it survives your deletion. You would need to request removal from each creator individually.
What happens to my unspent TikTok coins?
They are forfeited with no refund. Spend them or accept the loss before you delete.
