How do I delete my EA account?

You cannot do it yourself — EA requires you to talk to an advisor through EA Help. An ordinary deletion can often be restored by password reset; a Right to be Forgotten request cannot be undone at all.

There are two different deletions here, and only one is permanent. An ordinary account deletion can often be reversed. A Right to be Forgotten request cannot — EA states it cannot restore your account or your EA Forums account if you exercise it. Know which one you are asking for before you talk to an advisor.

It reaches your Steam and Epic games

EA says it directly: you will not be able to access any EA games downloaded or purchased on Steam or Epic, because they are connected to your EA Account. You will also lose entitlements, subscriptions and in-game purchases, and you cannot reuse a connected platform account on a different EA Account.

Ultimate Team: it depends on the platform

If you restore a deleted account, EA lists what may come back: games, entitlements, DLC, purchase history, linked platform accounts, and — on PC only — game progress, stats and Ultimate Teams. Console progress is not on that list. So a PC player has a real chance of getting the club back; a console player should treat it as gone.

What you do not get back either way: payment methods, two-factor authentication, and any EA Play membership or other subscription.

Delete the account

  1. Open EA's account deletion article and scroll to Contact us.
  2. Start a case — you have to talk to an advisor, as there is no self-service option.
  3. Say whether you want an ordinary deletion or a Right to be Forgotten request.

Deleting will not remove a ban, and any Terms of Service violations attached to your account or games remain. If you have an EA Play membership on a console, cancel it with Microsoft or Sony directly.

Restoring a deleted account

Only you can do it — EA will not do it for you. If you have not created a new EA Account on the same email address, a password reset may bring the old one back; if you have, change the email on the new account first. It can take up to three hours to regain access, and EA does not guarantee everything returns.

The EA Forums account is separate

Deleting your EA Forums account does not delete your EA Account, and it cannot be restored. Your posts are not removed — they are anonymised and reattributed to a generic user. A Right to be Forgotten request deletes both together.

The linked-platform rule cuts both ways

You cannot reuse a connected platform account on a different EA Account. This is the sentence that turns a reversible-looking decision into a permanent one. Your PlayStation, Xbox, Steam or Epic account is bound to the EA Account it was linked to — so deleting and starting fresh does not let you reconnect the same console profile to the new one.

In practice that means a "clean start" is not available to anyone with a console. The new EA Account cannot see your console identity, which is where the games and the entitlements are. If you have ever linked a platform, treat deletion as an exit rather than a reset.

Before you open the case

Because this runs through an advisor rather than a button, going in prepared saves a second conversation:

  1. Decide which deletion you want. Ordinary deletion is often reversible by password reset. Right to be Forgotten is final and takes the Forums account with it. The advisor will ask, and saying the wrong one is not something you can walk back afterwards.
  2. Cancel EA Play at its source. If it is billed by Microsoft or Sony, cancel it there — EA cannot stop a charge made by a console store.
  3. Note every platform you have linked, so you know what stops working.
  4. Check for a ban you are trying to escape. Deletion does not remove one, and the violation stays attached — this is worth knowing before you spend an hour on it.
  5. Screenshot anything you want to remember from Ultimate Team or your stats, particularly on console where progress is not on the restore list.

The asymmetry between PC and console is the thing to hold on to. A PC player deleting an ordinary account has a genuine chance of getting the club and the stats back. A console player is making a one-way decision that merely looks like the same one.

Common questions

Do I lose my Ultimate Team club if I delete my EA account?

On console, treat it as gone. On PC, EA lists game progress and Ultimate Teams among what may return if you restore the account — unless you made a Right to be Forgotten request, which cannot be reversed.

Can I get a deleted EA account back?

Often, yes. If you have not created a new account on the same email, a password reset may restore it, and only you can do this — EA cannot. A Right to be Forgotten request is the exception and is final.

Will deleting my EA account remove a ban?

No. EA says deletion will not remove a ban, and Terms of Service violations attached to your account or games remain.
