How to delete a Roblox account

Spend your Robux before you start. Roblox does not refund balances or transfer items between accounts, so anything left over — Robux, limiteds, game passes — realistically goes with the account. If you have a meaningful balance, spend it first rather than testing this.

Delete a Roblox account

There is no delete button in settings. Roblox handles this as a data-privacy request through its support form.

1. Open the Roblox Support form.
2. Under Data Privacy Requests, select the Right To Be Forgotten option.
3. Submit the request.
4. Complete Roblox's identity verification — it will not act on the request without it.

Roblox states some data may still be retained afterwards where it is required to keep records for tax, legal or security purposes.

Roblox also notifies experience creators of a deletion request so they can remove what they hold about you inside their own games. That runs on their timetable rather than instantly, so in-game records can linger after the account itself is gone.

For parents deleting a child's account

Roblox has a dedicated process for parents and guardians, since children's accounts carry extra protections under COPPA and equivalent laws. You will typically need to demonstrate you are the parent or guardian and identify the account.

Worth knowing before you delete: parental controls may solve the real problem better. Roblox lets you restrict chat, limit spending, set screen-time limits and lock those settings with a PIN. If the concern is contact with strangers or overspending, those controls address it without destroying an account a child may care about a great deal.

What deletion removes

• Robux, items, limiteds and game passes — forfeited entirely.
• Games you created and any earnings from them.
• Friends, badges and inventory.
• Premium subscription — cancel separately, especially if billed through an app store.

If you built anything, deal with that first

Roblox is not only a game — it is a platform people earn on, and a creator account carries obligations that a player account does not.

• Cash out pending DevEx earnings before submitting anything. Robux awaiting conversion are not paid out to a deleted account, and there is no support route to recover them afterwards.
• Download your place files. Experiences you built live on Roblox's servers; the deletion takes the game and everything in it, including work you might want to rebuild elsewhere.
• Hand over group ownership. If you own a group with other members, deleting orphans it. Transfer it to someone you trust rather than leaving a community stranded.
• Tell collaborators. Anyone with team-create access to your work loses it with no warning from Roblox.

Robux is not money, and it does not come back

Worth being blunt about, because it is usually a child's savings and it is usually the thing that causes the argument afterwards. Robux bought with real money is credit inside Roblox, not a balance you can withdraw. Roblox does not refund it on deletion, does not transfer it to another account, and does not convert it back.

The same applies to everything bought with it: limiteds with resale value on the in-game market, game passes, avatar items. All of it is tied to the account and none of it moves.

If a child is involved, price this before you decide. A parent deleting an account to solve a behaviour problem is also deleting years of purchases the child paid for out of pocket money. Parental controls — chat restrictions, spending limits, screen time, all PIN-locked — solve most of the actual concerns without that cost, and can be reversed when the situation changes.

What Roblox keeps

A Right To Be Forgotten request removes the account and the personal data attached to it, but Roblox is explicit that some records survive where it is legally required to keep them — tax, legal and security purposes are the ones named.

Purchase and payment records are the clearest example: a platform that has taken money has to be able to account for it, and a deletion request does not override that.
