How to delete your AliExpress account permanently

Buyer protection dies with the account. AliExpress shipping can take weeks and disputes are the main recourse when something never arrives. Do not delete while anything is still in transit or inside its protection window — and in practice AliExpress will not let you, because open orders fail the pre-deletion check.

What AliExpress checks before it will delete

Step two of their process is a system check, and the pop-up tells you what to clear. You need to:

• Complete all orders and their return and refund requests.
• Pay off any PAD or installment orders. Deleting is not an exit from money you owe.
• Cancel VIP services, or the subscription blocks the request.
• Unbind your wallet, including the wallet phone number.

If your account is currently disabled, you have to apply to reactivate it before you can delete it.

Before you delete, for your own sake

• Refunds actually received, not merely approved.
• Order records saved if you need them for warranty claims — that history is the only proof of purchase you have.
• Balance withdrawn and coins or coupons spent. AliExpress does not publish what becomes of them, which is reason enough not to leave anything behind.

Delete your account

1. Sign in, then open the delete request in the AliExpress privacy portal at privacy.aliexpress.com.
2. Work through the system check and clear whatever the pop-up lists.
3. Verify your account using one of the offered methods — email, phone, a linked social account, or details from a card-paid order.

Buyer protection is the reason the timing matters

On most sites, deleting mid-order is inconvenient. On AliExpress it is the difference between getting your money back and not.

Shipping frequently runs to several weeks, and the protection window is the period in which you can open a dispute if the parcel never arrives or arrives wrong. That dispute is filed against an order, from an account. Remove the account and you remove the only mechanism you had.

• Wait for every parcel to land and for you to have opened it. "Delivered" is not the same as "correct".
• Let the protection window close on the last order before you start.
• Confirm refunds have reached your card or bank, not merely that a seller agreed to one.
• Then delete. The system check enforces most of this anyway, which is AliExpress protecting you from yourself.

Save the purchase record while you still have one

For cheap goods bought abroad, the order page is usually the only proof of purchase that exists. There is no paper receipt, the seller may not be traceable in a year, and warranty claims start with evidence you bought the thing.

1. Screenshot or save each order page you might need — item, price, date, seller.
2. Save any dispute correspondence, which is the record of what was agreed.
3. Note the seller names for anything you would reorder. Finding a specific store again without your order history is genuinely hard.

Unbinding the wallet is the step people get stuck on. The check requires the wallet unbound including its phone number, and if that number is one you no longer have, expect this to be the part that needs support rather than a settings screen. Sort it out before you assume deletion is a five-minute job.

Emptying the account is the fallback

If the system check keeps blocking you, or you would rather not wait out a protection window on a slow-shipping order, you can reduce what the account holds without deleting it.

• Delete saved shipping addresses. On a shopping account this is usually the most sensitive thing stored.
• Remove saved cards and unbind the wallet.
• Turn off marketing notifications in the app and in email preferences — they are separate settings.
• Delete the app, which stops the push notifications that send most people looking for this page in the first place.

That is not deletion, and it does remove the data that would actually matter if the account were later breached. It is also reversible, which the real thing is not.
